Console Cowboys

Student Organizations

About Console Cowboys:

Our club focuses on Low level secure, Like Hardware / electrical, Software Reverse engineering, physical security, Science, and physics as well. We are a club open to all degrees, and we have 80+ club members and growing. We are working with CSA and CompTIA. We are branching out to other Organizations and Companies for sponsorships.

Our learning goals:

Firstly, we want an environment where students can learn and have fun. Our idea is to create an environment where students learn a different side of cybersecurity. No other club in UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) is as focused on our fields. As technology grows, so is learning new techniques to secure and bypass security. Although we specialize in Hardware, Reverse engineering, and physical security that is not where we stop. We have a wide range of interests in the community, I will list a few from our members.

  • Quantum computing
  • Vulnerability research
  • Malware development
  • Physics in Cyber security
  • EMS (Electromagnetic Spectrum)/ SDR / Signals
  • Electrical engineering
  • 3D printing
  • Chemical Science
  • Conductive materials
  • Microscopy
  • Failure analysis
  • Additive Manufacturing
  • Cyber warfare
  • AI and ML
  • Research
  • Embedded security (IoT)

Our Goals for students:

In our club we are looking for mentors, guest speakers, job opportunities for club members, collaborations, even scholarships for students. The officers of the Console Cowboy officer have contacted different Organizations and have been able to successfully acquire internship opportunities for Students and club members.
