Rowdy WiP aims to provide support and mentorship to women physics students at UTSA. This includes women-focused career development workshops, research seminars by women scientist role models, and the creation of graduate-undergraduate student mentoring pairs. Rowdy WiP provides and creates a safe and accepting forum for discussion of issues faced by women physicists at all stages in their careers. We also aim to build community among women in physics throughout the San Antonio area. We will invite students from other area institutions to participate in our workshops and seminars, as well as inviting guest speakers from these institutions. We will also organize outreach visits to local high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools, as well as afterschool programs.
Our group will welcome undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and faculty members of any race/ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation.
