Undergraduate Research allows students to explore topics of interest, apply lessons learned in the classroom, and develop problem-solving skills. The Office of Undergraduate Research (O.U.R) works to initiate a collaborative network of programs to engage and support undergraduate students’ participation in research and scholarly activities in all areas of academic inquiry. Research develops your practical skills while providing you with the ideal venue to prove your mastery of what you’ve learned in class.

As a UTSA undergraduate, you have a number of opportunities to make original contributions to your chosen discipline or field of study through faculty-mentored research, scholarship, and creative activity. UTSA was awarded the status of R1, the highest designation from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, indicating an elite status and an invaluable opportunity for students to expand their skills and participate in cutting edge research.
