UTSA CONVOCATION CENTER

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Jan. 21, 2018) – The University Career Center will be hosting their bi-annual S.T.E.M. Career Fair and All Majors and Internship Career Fair on February 19, 2019. The S.T.E.M. Career Fair will be from 8:30am to 11:30am in the UTSA Convocation Center. The All Majors and Internship Career Fair will be from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, also in the UTSA Convocation Center. This will be a time for UTSA students to meet with major employers local to the San Antonio area and nation-wide. Students can log in to Handshake for an up to date list of employers attending.

Students will be required to wear professional dress for this event. If a student is in need of professional dress clothing items, they can visit the Career Closet at the University Career Center (SU 2.02.04). For more information on the University Career Center Career Closet, please visit careercenter.utsa.edu.

Students can also see a complete list of companies attending the fair through the Career Fair Plus app, in addition to Handshake. There students will be able to view a map of where the employers are set up. Students can learn more about the employers attending, set specific employers as their favorites, and view the layout in the app.

The University Career Center will be conducting career fair prep workshops from February 4-18. Here students will be able to learn how to navigate a career fair, prepare for behavioral interviews and networking tips. Students can also visit the University Career Center on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week for drop-in appointments from 1pm-4pm. During drop-in hours, the University Career Center will be conducting resume labs at 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. At the resume lab, students can bring their personal laptop into the office and have a career counselor assist them on the spot. In addition to drop-ins, Students can prepare for the S.T.E.M. Career Fair and All Majors and Internship Career Fair by scheduling an appointment with their assigned career counselor on Handshake. They can schedule an appointment to have a career counselor improve their resume, cover letter, assist with interviewing techniques and more.

“Thanks to the last two career fairs I’ve attended I’ve landed internships with two major retail operators, H-E-B and Target Corporation. As an undergraduate studying business management, both experiences have had a significant impact on my leadership abilities and personal growth. This summer at Target as an Executive Store intern I primarily worked in the logistics department, but had the opportunity to shadow leaders in the store, as well as lead a team on my own.” – Tyler Werland ’18
