SUMMARY:Spring 2017 Professional Etiquette Dinner
DESCRIPTION:
Spring 2017 Professional Etiquette Dinner
March 1, 2017
5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Student Information
All UTSA students and alumni are invited to attend the University Career Center's Professional Etiquette Dinner and enjoy a delicious three-course meal while learning the art of fine dining.
According to a survey conducted by an independent research firm, 49 percent of chief financial officers said that their most successful business meetings, outside of the the office, were conducted at a restaurant. Furthermore, employers say that a person's table manners (or lack thereof) may be a deciding factor in securing a signed contract. Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to polish your skills and learn all about social dining etiquette.
PROFESSIONAL DRESS IS REQUIRED.
Cost: Tickets are $15.00 per person and may be purchased through February 22, 2017 via credit card or check. This amount will be refunded back to you if you stay throughout the entire event.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made before February 22nd will be fully refunded. There will be no refunds for cancellations made after February 22, 2017. There will be no refunds for no-shows.

Employer Information
Too often in this world, we (even as families) sit down to our meals in front of a television or eat in a fast food restaurant. We are now seeing the problems that this brings about in the work place. Our students often don’t understand the basics of eating out, let alone fine dining. This dinner provides an opportunity for our students to learn the art of fine dining and to understand and appreciate the protocol of business etiquette.
Although the students pay $15.00 per ticket to attend, this only covers a fraction of the actual cost. Rather than increase the amount we charge students, we are asking businesses and organizations if they would like to donate to the program in the amount of $250.00 per table.
As a donor, you will be invited to sit at a table with six students and bring 2 representatives. Donors will also be recognized in advance publicly and in the event program. We will also make every attempt to seat majors of your choice at your table. Please consider this unique opportunity to assist in the professional development of our young students. There are not many chances for students to experience and develop their fine dining ability during college, yet it is an invaluable, lifelong skill.
Here is what students who have attended past dinners have had to say about the Business Etiquette Dinner:
"This program was very helpful - thank you!"
"This is a great way to teach!"
"Great meal and very helpful program - I plan to attend again!"
"Had a wonderful evening - I learned so much!"
"This is a great learning experience - it’s beneficial and helpful for all students."
"I had fun and I learned the importance of proper dinner etiquette."
"This program provides information and an experience that you cannot get anywhere else."
All donor registrations must be received by February 22, 2017.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made on or prior to February 15, will be fully refunded. Cancellations made before February 21-22 will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. No refunds given after February 22nd. If a cancellation is not reported and your organization does not attend on the day of the event, you will be billed for the full registration amount.
