SAN ANTONIO- The UTSA Career Center is excited to welcome Josue Olivas to the team. In his new role as a Career Consultant, he will provide career development assistance to students, alumni, and collaborate with campus partners.
“We are excited to have Josue as part of our Career Consultant team, Career Engaged learning and the UTSA community. His knowledge and experience along with his passion for serving students will transcend into key collaborations across campus while making an invaluable influence on student and alumni career development in discovering, pursuing, and achieving their unique career goals. I look forward to working with Josue and celebrating the positive impact he will make on UTSA students & alumni’s BOLD futures,” says Sara Goede, Assistant Director of Career Development.
Before this appointment, Josue worked with Subsplash as a Sales Development Representative for 3 months, and at Grand Canyon University (GCU) for 4 years as a Student Engagement Coordinator (Aug ’19 – May’22) and an Instructional Assistant (Aug ’18 – Sep ’20). During his time at GCU, he mentored and trained student government leaders, planned and executed events to drive student engagement, and assisted primary instructors at Grand Canyon University (GCU) with in-class activities, grading, class discussions, tutoring, meeting with students, proctoring examinations, and lecturing. Josue has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from GCU in ’17 and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from GCU.

Joining the Career Consultant team is an exciting opportunity to capitalize on my passion for students and my love of higher education,” says Josue.
