The Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) Career Collaborative is back with its second event of the year. The collaborative’s 2nd Annual Employer Summit is happening on the 10th of August from 10:45 am to 3:45 pm CDT on the virtual venue, Hopin.
“The HSI Career Collaborative began as an initiative to build deeper relationships with the best employers across the country. We are witnessing that this is now a movement that is relevant and creating real opportunities for our students and alumni.,” says Mario Vela, Assistant Vice-Provost of Career-Engaged Learning.
This year’s theme is University Diversity Recruiting, Deconstructed. Employer partners are invited to join us on a recruiting journey from the student’s perspective. 8 different super-Hispanic Serving Institutions are represented across three panels – 2 of these panels are focused on the student’s voice, and the third is an Interactive Alumni Panel. Employers will hear directly from first-generation students and student organization leaders on topics such as unseen barriers to traditional recruiting tactics and how companies have successfully engaged with them in the past.
Employers will learn from the keynote speaker, a job posting expert, and LinkedIn Top Voice, that their job descriptions may not be as inclusive as they think. We will conclude with an alumni panel that will discuss what successful diversity recruiting, inclusion, and belonging feel like firsthand. Register here to join this fruitful discussion.
This event would not have been possible without our employer partners, Devereux Advanced behavioral health, H-E-B, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and many more.
