Looking for Congressional internships? Here is a great opportunity to work with the Office of Congressman Joaquin Castro!
Internship opportunities are available throughout the fall, spring or summer semester for graduate and undergraduate students. Students gain invaluable work experience and understanding of the functionality of a congressional office. Interns are expected to work between 20 and 40 hours a week during an 8 to 12 week internship period. Work hours are flexible to accommodate students’ course schedules but are generally 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In Washington, D.C., our interns are responsible for assisting Congressman Castro and staff with a variety of tasks. Interns are responsible for answering phones, researching legislation, attending hearings and briefings, and responding to constituent letters on the various issues that come before the House. As a result, our interns have a firsthand look at the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office. Press and congressional internships are available.
