|Job Title:||CLAIMS ANALYST|
|Starting Salary:||$3,771 month|
|Job Description:||Investigates, processes and evaluates all third party claims involving company vehicles, property and/or employees. Reviews all types of claim files for subrogation potential. Negotiates settlement of accident claims as assigned, including subrogation claims. Interprets and applies governmental statutes and immunities to claim files. Prepares general correspondence and claims data reports. Requires general supervision and direction. Must be able to negotiate and deal with attorneys and claimants in a clear and understanding manner. Performs fieldwork as required.|
|Education and Experience:||
Must have completed high school or the equivalent plus additional applicable business school, college or trade training courses. Must have an adjusters license. Must have at least two (2) years current experience in a related field. Additional related education or experience may be used in determining an equivalent combination. Public entity experience desirable.
|Job Title:||DIRECTOR OF F & F OPER SUPPORT SVCS|
|Starting Salary:||$7,392 – $12,829 per month|
Provides leadership and direction to department staff in the management of various areas which supports the overall Fleet and Facilities Division. This is a critical senior level management position which is responsible for the oversight and management of the division’s data collection and management process otherwise known as the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM), financial responsibilities, contracts, asset management, training and administrative support services.
Develops and presents various reports to VIA’s Board and Executive level staff. Overall responsible for leading, managing, mentoring and supporting this departments administrative and management team. Manages/works closely with hourly and salaried, technical and non-technical and clerical administrative employees to maximize the overall efficiency and effectiveness for all departments within the Fleet and Facilities Division.
|Education and Experience:||
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and 7 years’ experience managing an operation with responsibilities over the Financial, Administration and / or Automated Data Collection Systems (Enterprise Asset Management). Experience within a maintenance related environment preferred.
5 years’ experience in a senior level management position,
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be acceptable.
|Job Title:||DIRECTOR OF INNOVATIVE SERVICES|
|Starting Salary:||$7,283 – $12,455 per month|
The Director of Innovative Services leads the Office of Innovative Services in the
Division of Information Technology. The Director supervises the Customer Experience
Application Coordinator position. Responsible for developing VIA’s forward-looking
approach to emerging transportation technologies, innovative mobility strategies, and
partnerships to ensure that VIA is a leader in providing solutions to help our customers
move efficiently throughout the greater San Antonio metropolitan area. The director will
play a key role in helping identify and execute transformative innovative services for
improving customer experience.
|Education and Experience:||
Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 8 years’ experience preferably in
marketing, business, product development, customer experience, innovation,
technology, or transportation. An equivalent combination of education and experience
may be acceptable.
|Job Title:||DIRECTOR OF MANAGEMENT & BUDGET|
|Starting Salary:||$7,933 – $13,658 per month|
Directs preparation of VIA’s annual departmental operating and capital budgets, activities of grants administration, preparation of the VIA Strategic Business Plan, and reporting of financial status and projections. Tracks/monitors and projects performance metrics, conducts financial analysis, and serves as project manager for special projects. Works with departments to examine and analyze innovative strategies and programs for potential application to VIA.
Directs activities of the Manager of Operating Budget and Performance Reporting, and Manager of Capital Budget and Grants. Manager activities include:
– Working with departments to set annual and short-term goals, objectives, performance metrics, and supporting budget that tie to VIA vision, mission and strategic plan
– Monitoring adherence to budgetary goals, objectives and performance
– Working with departments to conduct management reviews for budget status and projection explanation
– Conducting analysis for special projects
– Developing the business case for innovation projects
The expected outcome is to enhance system efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service in order to meet VIA’s vision, mission, goals and objectives.
|Education and Experience:||
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field and at least five years budget,
finance/accounting experience, or an equivalent combination thereof. Transportation
industry experience preferred.
|Job Title:||DIVERSITY & COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR|
|Starting Salary:||$5,236 – $8,888 per month|
|Job Description:||Diversity and Compliance Administrator is responsible for monitoring and assessing contract compliance, ensuring that the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program complies with all the federal regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 26. This position plays a critical role in establishing VIA’s triennial goal and is charged with establishing contract-specific DBE and SBE subcontracting goals throughout the year on federal and local projects.|
|Education and Experience:||
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Contract Management or a related field and three years related experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Experience with state transportation agencies (e.g. Federal Transit Administration, Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and DBE Program Management. Contract Specific Goal setting is mandatory.
National Transit Institute training on Disadvantaged Business Enterprise preferred.

|Starting Salary:||$12.00 per hour|
|Job Description:||Provide customer service at special events, assisting patrons as needed. Loads and releases buses under the direct supervision of Transportation Supervisors. Sells tokens at various Park and Ride locations for special event service.|
|Education and Experience:||High school education or equivalent and at least 3 months experience in a public contact environment, Additional experience in money handling is preferred.|
|Job Title:||FULL-TIME BUS OPERATOR|
|Starting Salary:||Paid training benefits & excellent starting rate of $18.441/hr with regular step raises up to $22.22. Plus differential pay after 4:00 p.m.|
Responsible for safe and efficient operation of buses, providing professional transportation service to our customers in the San Antonio Metropolitan area,
|Education and Experience:||High school education or GED preferred. Must be at least 21, have a good driving record and a valid Texas driver’s license.|
|Starting Salary:||$20.30 per hour PLUS A DIFFERENTIAL FOR EVENINGS AND NIGHTS|
Responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures of plant facilities and related
equipment, and public transportation related structures and associated equipment both on
and off VIA property. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections of VIA
owned equipment and facilities to ensure a satisfactory level of mechanical integrity.
|Education and Experience:||Must have at least 3 years of full-time verifiable work experience as a mechanic in any field OR have a 2 year certificate in automotive technology.|
|Job Title:||MGR F & F ADMIN, BUDGET & INFO SUPP SVCS|
|Starting Salary:||$6,225 – $10,673 per month|
This position manages hourly and salaried staff in various administrative duties required to support the Fleet and Facilities Division, Responsible for division’s financial planning, budget development and management oversight of costs, Overall responsible for the collection, evaluation and reporting out on the division’s performance against established Key Performance Indicators (KPls)l goals and objectives. Through leadership and management of support staff, performs various analysis of division performance.
This position manages and/or works with a staff of hourly employees, supervisors, clerical and technical personnel in a combined effort to support the Division’s operational needs.

The Security Specialist Intern’s role is to assist the Security Engineer with the daily security-centric operations, such as checking system logs, investigating IDS alerts, analyzing end-point protection events, performing security scans, assessing vulnerabilities, and assisting with various security audits.
|Education and Experience:||The ideal candidate should be working towards a degree in Cyber Security, or a closely related field, and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT field with involvement in security or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Any industry-standard Security certifications are a plus.|
|Job Title:||SENIOR CLAIMS AND INSURANCE ANALYST|
|Starting Salary:||$4,345 – $7,285 per month|
This position will perform duties in connection with general insurance matters. Also responsible for all purchased insurance coverage needs such as obtaining rate quotes, preparing insurance bids, and following up to ensure adequate cost effective coverage for various risk exposures. Handles complex claims, all insurance subrogation and pursues subrogation recoveries on behalf of VIA. Additional related education or experience may be used in determining an equivalent combination.

At least 2 years current experience in an insurance-related work environment. Additional related experience preferred. Must have an adjuster’s license. Must have the ability to give oral or written presentations regarding claims and insurance matters.|
|Job Title:||SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST|
|Starting Salary:||$5,619 – $9,458 per month|
|Job Description:||Implements and analyzes complex systems and various business processes with detailed planning, design, development, and testing. Plans, organizes, and controls development of programs and interfaces necessary to ensure the AVL/Trapeze systems are used to VIA’s best advantage. Work requires attention to detail, initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to coordinate various projects with all division representatives. Provides analysis and support for third-party applications as well as system upgrades and integration projects.|
|Education and Experience:||Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in application and systems programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with AVL system is preferred. Strong background in client and server side programming and reporting techniques is essential.|
|Job Title:||SERVICE PLANNING & SCHEDULING COORD|
|Starting Salary:||$5,703 – $9,742 per month|
|Job Description:||Responsible to the Manager of Service Planning and Scheduling. Monitors the activities of a group of Service Planners and Schedule Analysts. Assists in the preparation and development of the annual service plans for all modes and service types, the short-range transportation plan and five-year service plan. Responsible for operations service planning through the implementation of various projects. Coordinates and supervises special research projects and obtains operational data for the preparation and implementation of service revisions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of transit operations. Plans services within budget and maintains cost effectiveness. Serves as a liaison between the strategic planning and service planning staff on long-term projects. Works closely with Fiscal Management, Public Engagement, Engineering, Information Technology, and Strategic Planning Divisions to assure effective coordination of bus and rail service planning efforts|
|Education and Experience:||Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Planning, Public Administration, Finance, Transportation or related field and a minimum of five (5) years experience in transit service planning or an equivalent combination of education and experience.|
|Job Title:||VICE PRESIDENT TRANSPORTATION|
|Starting Salary:||Commensurate with experience|
|Job Description:||Responsible for the management of the Transportation Division, providing safe, customer-oriented and efficient bus and paratransit services.|
|Education and Experience:||
Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in a field related to one or more areas of department responsibility, or in Business Administration. Master’s Degree preferred.
10 years experience in progressively responsible positions to provide an adequate background in a broad range of functions pertaining to mass transit, particularly in one or more of the areas related to the division.
5 years experience in a managerial position.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
