Starting Salary: $6,133 – $10,362 per month
Job Description:

Responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance in legal issues involving VIA to insure maximum protection of legal rights and to maintain operations within the limits prescribed by law. Performs legal research and consults with management and retained counsel regarding legal issues.

Job Title: CLAIMS ANALYST
Starting Salary: $3,771 month
Job Description: VIA is currently seeking candidates for the position of Public Liability Specialist I. This position will be responsible for investigating, processing and evaluating all third party claims involving company vehicles, property and/or employees. Also responsible for reviewing all types of claim files for subrogation potential. Interprets and applies governmental statutes and immunities to claim files. Must be able to negotiate and deal with attorneys and claimants in a clear and understanding manner.  Must have working knowledge of applicable Federal and State statutes including the Texas Tort Claims Act. Must be able to perform all phases of analytical work, using various computer programs, maps, schedules and other tracking applications.
Education and Experience:

Must have completed high school or the equivalent plus additional applicable business school, college or trade training courses. Must have an adjusters license. Must have at least two (2) years current experience in a related field. Additional related education or experience may be used in determining an equivalent combination. Public entity experience desirable.

Job Title: DIRECTOR OF CAPITAL & SERVICE PLANNING
Starting Salary: $7,933 – $13,658 per month
Job Description: Reports  to  the  Senior  Vice  President Planning  and Development for VIA’s strategic planning  department  functions. Assists  the  Senior  Vice  President  in  preparation  of  the division’s manpower and budget activities. Organizes, coordinates, directs and monitors the work in the Strategic Planning and Service Planning departments. Responsible for highly complex  multi-project  managerial  work  by  providing  direction  and  guidance  regarding strategic   operations   and   planning   implementation   related   to   the   Long   Range Comprehensive  Strategic  Plan,  including  High  Capacity  Transit  Corridor  planning. Oversight  responsibility  for  the  preparation  of  annual  service  plans  for  bus,  rail  and paratransit  services;  development  of  the  short  range  and  five-year  service  plan;  and coordinating and supervising special research projects and analysis of operational data for the  preparation  and  implementation  of  service  revisions  to  improve  efficiency  and effectiveness  of  transit  operations. Prepares  and/or  gives  presentations  to  senior management, VIA Board of Trustees and outside groups/organizations.
Education and Experience: Must  have  a  Baccalaureate  Degree  in  Architecture,  Engineering,  Planning  (Graduate Degree  preferred),  and  at  least  10  years  of  applicable  work  experience  in  transit engineering/construction, transportation planning and policy analysis. This experience must include 7 years of project management in areas of transportation, urban design and urban planning. Must  be  able  to  organize  and  direct  the  technical  work  of  other  engineers, planners, real estate staff and project management. Certificate or License in the area of education is preferred (i.e., AICP, PE, PMP).

Job Title: DIRECTOR OF MANAGEMENT & BUDGET
Starting Salary: $7,933 – $13,658 per month
Job Description:

Directs preparation of VIA’s annual departmental operating and capital budgets, activities of grants administration, preparation of the VIA Strategic Business Plan, and reporting of financial status and projections. Tracks/monitors and projects performance metrics, conducts financial analysis, and serves as project manager for special projects. Works with departments to examine and analyze innovative strategies and programs for potential application to VIA.

Directs activities of the Manager of Operating Budget and Performance Reporting, and Manager of Capital Budget and Grants. Manager activities include:

– Working with departments to set annual and short-term goals, objectives, performance metrics, and supporting budget that tie to VIA vision, mission and strategic plan

– Monitoring adherence to budgetary goals, objectives and performance

– Working with departments to conduct management reviews for budget status and projection explanation

– Conducting analysis for special projects

– Developing the business case for innovation projects

The expected outcome is to enhance system efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service in order to meet VIA’s vision, mission, goals and objectives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field and at least five years budget,

finance/accounting experience, or an equivalent combination thereof. Transportation

industry experience preferred.

Starting Salary: $12.00  per hour
Job Description: Provide customer service at special events, assisting patrons as needed. Loads and releases buses under the direct supervision of Transportation Supervisors. Sells tokens at various Park and Ride locations for special event service.

Job Title: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
Starting Salary: $4,739 – $7,857 per month
Job Description: The Network Administrator is responsible for assisting both the Technology Operations Team with networking (wireless included) and the IP voice teams in the operations of the data and voice networks. This position is responsible for data and VOIP implementation support, maintenance and repair. The role includes, monitoring and improving data and VOIP network performance and capacity. This role is also in charge of the IDF/MDF racks and ensuring cable plant management and structured cabling standards are maintained. Job Description: Implements and analyzes complex systems and various business processes with detailed planning, design, development, and testing. Job Title: SHOP ATTENDANT – CDL
Starting Salary: $14.58  per hour PLUS DIFFERENTIAL PAY AFTER 1:30 PM
Job Description: Responsible for non-skilled work which involves duties related to cleaning revenue vehicles, support vehicles, equipment and duties related to cleaning and maintaining VIA facilities. Cleans and mops revenue vehicles, support vehicles, and VIA facilities as required. Cleans bus stop locations. Cleans bus and paratransit service station. Cleans equipment, bus ceilings, windows, floors, wheels and scrubs tailgates.
