Meet your COB Career Counselors

Greetings COB Students,

It’s that time of year – the Spring 2017 Semester has begun! So, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and to share with you a little about how we can play a role in helping you succeed.

So without further ado, here is more about your COB Career Counselors and The University Career Center:

Denise Gates is an experienced professional with a passion for helping others.  She has over 9 years of experience in career counseling and training with both student and veteran populations.  Her focus lies in both preparing and empowering job seekers to find employment and progress in their careers.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University.

She is from Elgin, Illinois but has lived most of her adult life in San Antonio, TX and Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Veronica Rodriquez is a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio with her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and minor in Sociology.  She has an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Fund Development with an emphasis on grant writing with the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. Upon completion of her studies with UTSA she began her career with Kaplan Test Prep & Admission as an Associate Student Services Manager and Designated Student Officer for International Students.  She then continued her career with Workforce Solutions Alamo where she became the youngest Center Program Manager. Veronica has over 11 years serving the people of South Texas and our Veterans.

Each year the UCC hosts on campus recruitment activities for over 100 companies and organizations. Many companies schedule information sessions, schedule interviews, and participate in career fairs and other special events. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to network!
