2016 Career Conference Keynote – The Dream Share Project

We are thrilled to announce that our Keynote Presenters at the 2016 Career Conference are Chip Hiden and Alexis Irvin of the The Dream Share Project film! They have been sharing their story at universities and have been inspiring students across the country. We want to open the conference with a “Bang,” and that is just what Chip and Alexis will do! Their mission is to, “encourage and help you discover and pursue your dreams.” This is an excellent discussion for students about to graduate and start their career exploration or for recent alumni trying to figure out what career they would like to pursue.

In 2010 Chip and Alexis quit their unsatisfying desk jobs and embarked on a coast-to-coast road trip to explore how successful people have chased their dreams. They learned about, “discovering one’s passion, committing to a dream, dealing with setbacks, and redefining success for the Millennial generation.”  Along the way, they got advice from an Olympic skier, a slam poet, one of the original Latin Kings of Comedy, a Project Runway fashion designer, the CEO of a sustainable flip flop company, the founder of South by Southwest festival, and many more. The result of the road trip was The Dream Share Project film that shows how successful people have pursued their dreams to find careers they love.

The keynote session will be a combination of viewing the video they made of their road trip and an interactive workshop. The knowledge and inspiration you will take away from this session will be unlike anything else you can find. Students wishing to attend the conference must RSVP in Handshake. There are a limited number of seats, and they are filling up quickly! Make sure to log in to Handshake and register for the conference today!
